I absolutely love Mexican food and Tortuga Loca knocked it out of the park. The vibe is a winner, the food is flavourful and the service is exceptional. Not only is the food flavourful, the portion sizes are generous. I'm generally very much a meat person so the vegetarian options can be a leap for me at times, however, I took a chance and ordered the Chilli Sin Carne and was not disappointed. The meal is reasonably priced and I love the idea of "build your own" dishes which this dish aced. Highly recommended.

What a great little (okay not so little when you are inside) place! From driving or walking past this establishment on a few occasions, one would not really give it a second thought...But do yourself a favor and actually step inside. Atmosphere is great! Service, setting, decor...Alles! We'll done Tortuga Loca on gifting us with such a lovely experience
Amazing, warm & vibey place. Perfect for date night or even meeting up with a few friends. I love chillies and their menu is just up my alley. Only criticism would be to have fresh chillies served as a condiment with all meals. However, our waiter went above & beyond to sort us out at the time. Great experience. We sat in the section facing the road which seemed very entertaining too, given the multiple characters you find walking around in Muizenberg. All positive!
I keep coming back to this restaurant every time I visit Cape Town (which is quite often). Menu also got a revamp which deserves a nod. The nachos are very well-prepared and the cheese is layered across all layers of nachos. The enchiladas are a generous portion and made to perfect taste.
Honestly, one of the best places in the South. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Zoe was an absolute standout — genuinely one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had. Warm, attentive, and intuitive, she completely elevated our night. My mom is going through a divorce, and Zoe somehow struck the perfect balance of kindness, professionalism, and good energy. She was a real tonic for the evening and made us feel truly looked after. The food was stunning — not just good, but memorable. Every bite delivered. A special shout-out for personalising our churro waffle with berry compote: please put this on the menu because it is to die for. No exaggeration. This was my second visit, and it somehow surpassed the first — which was already fantastic. That consistency (and improvement) says a lot. The Paloma cocktails were a hit across the table — perfectly balanced and dangerously drinkable. Outstanding service, exceptional food, and an atmosphere that genuinely lifts you. We’ll be back, without question.
First time at this place Must say I was present at a busy time which is not recommend however that took no effect on the quality of food provided , which was top notch Honesly a 10/10 , will make a turn when its not too busy
We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Very affordable with lots of starter options for those wanting to try different things. Mains portions are great and quite filling. BEST guacamole in house WOW! Wine list isn’t very extensive, perhaps more creative cocktail options can be added, but value for money! Amazing date night location (look at my date )
Tortuga Loca is a magical place. The food, the atmosphere, the service... everything is absolutely perfect. Every time! Zoey, our waitress, was absolutely the life of the party! Every suggestion she made was spot on, and she made every off menu request happen without any issues. A little slice of heaven in our local Muizenberg. I couldn't recommend enough! Definitely ask for Zoey when you pop in and ask her for recommendations, you definitely won't be disappointed
